Enshrouded has 15 fish, and fishing changed a lot in 1.0. Keen’s changelog says every fish can now be caught in every body of water. What you catch depends on your bait and on whether your rod can handle higher-tier fish. This guide covers every fish, rod and bait in the 1.0 files.

Catch odds
The files have 30 fishing tables, but only 7 are used by fishing spots in the game; the rest belong to unused or test spots. Six of those seven list all 15 species, weighted by rarity. Here is each fish’s share of the catch in those tables:

Every Fisher bait costs Gold Coins. In 1.0, Keen added gold coins to loot chests across Embervale as a currency for survivors.
How bait works in 1.0
From Keen’s 1.0 changelog:
- Each bait mainly attracts fish of the same tier, so you can go after specific fish.
- Improved bait guarantees that a fish that bites is the same tier as the bait.
- The chance of rare and epic fish went up.
- Trash and treasure odds were rebalanced, especially at marked fishing spots, and there’s more treasure loot.
So if you want an epic fish, use epic bait and a rod that can handle it, and you can fish anywhere.
Cooking your catch
Fish recipes are at the Seafood Grill, which has 19 recipes. In 1.0 the quest to craft one starts once you reach Veilwater Basin. For example, Cinderscale grills into Grilled Cinderscale.
